The American Heart Association reminds us that most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. It's important to know the early warning signs of a heart attack and if you experience any one or more of these signs call 9-1-1 immediately.

of sisters, mothers & daughters.

 

Common Warning Signs

Uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest lasting more than a few minutes.

Pain spreading to the shoulders, neck or arms.

Chest discomfort with lightheadedness, fainting, sweating, nausea or shortness of breath.

 

Less Common Warning Signs

Atypical chest pain, stomach or abdominal pain.

Nausea or dizziness.

Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing without chest pain.

Unexplained anxiety, weakness or fatigue. Palpitations, cold sweat or paleness.
